8 Ways the Avenger’s Could Help You Survive a Zombie Outbreak

Not sure why I’m even thinking of these things so early in the morning, but I’m sure at least two-thirds of this list has gone through Rick Jones’s mind on a daily basis (especially 5 or 8.)

1. Outside of the Fantastic Four’s tower, the Avenger’s Mansion is the safest fortress in midtown Manhattan, get to it…fast.
2. Live inside a spare Iron Man suit or the real thing if you had to put down Tony Stark before he “turned,” or if he was just annoying.
3. Hunt for food using Captain America’s shield, also Zombie’s make great target practice.
4. Same goes for Hawkeye’s bow, better yet, use Cap’s shield and Hawkeye’s bow together (add in Iron Man’s armor for a totally badass post-civ outfit).
5. Repopulate the Earth with the Black Widow. (Doesn’t really help you in a Zombie outbreak, but not a bad idea either.)
6. Hope the Avenger’s have a Super Skrull incarcerated and use him as a sick hunting beast.
7. Repopulate the Earth with the Scarlet Witch (probably a better idea than 5, create a new race of mutants…kickass.)
8. If all else fails, hitch a ride with Thor to Asgard

Also, this goes without saying, but hope the Hulk hasn’t become a Zombie or all the above is null and void.

Who Killed Rosie Larsen…Seattle or the show’s Producers? **Spoiler Warning**

Some pre-finale thoughts on part one of AMC’s The Killing finale.

Tonight is the first part of the season two finale of AMC’s The Killing and the question for me is not who killed Rosie Larsen (I figured that out by the fourth episode of season 1,) but after season 1 season ending fiasco…did AMC deserve our commitment to season 2?

But if you reading looking for a spoiler, I’ll save that to the end of the post.

First the good, I do have to say when this show hits its stride, it easily stands up there with the best of the AMC shows (Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and its so good it’s almost criminal Walking Dead.) There have been passages and full episodes when the tension is so high and the drama so gripping, you don’t think you can live until the next episode.
Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos in the lead roles are two of the easiest standouts in an incredibly stellar cast. But it’s their subtle and sometimes brutally visceral performances that takes us through each characters story arcs and keeps us begging for more.

The bad this season has been comically bad, in fact, so epically bad that it was like the show’s producers were defying us to stay with the show. I know for myself there was no less than three times where I was going to toss in the towel this season. Thankfully, either I seem to have a thing for punishing TV or it was my deep-seated desire to scream “I told you so,” when they finally reveal the killer that kept me going. Seriously, if one more red-herring character was introduced as a suspect, the entire city of Seattle would have officially been a suspect as well as insulting our collective intelligence. How this has not been parodied yet is a bigger mystery then who killed Rosie Larsen.

Thankfully, somewhere in the last 4 or 5 episodes the show dropped the rotating suspects and got back to the core mystery and this is when the show reaches incredible level and easily earns our commitment back.

Now for the spoiler…stop reading here if you don’t want to hear my theory…..
…
…
..
Okay, the killer is Jamie and sadly, I don’t have actual facts from the show to support my theory. This is another major shortcoming of the show, but I’ll go deeper into it after the full finale next week. Why I believe the killer is Jamie is in the first season they spent so much time trying to convince us the killer was the Billy Campbell character, but anyone who has seen the 1991 classic movie “The Rocketeer,” knows Billy Campbell could never have killed Rosie Larsen. So it had to be somebody who was close to his character, have the same kind of access as Campbell’s character, but has some darker motivation that is different from Campbell’s character. At one point, the producers tried to make us think it was Campbell’s girlfriend, but that just wasn’t in keeping with her character, as we knew too much about her.

So that only leaves Jamie. It was purely a process in elimination in figuring it out instead of catching some small detail in his character.

Possibly link between Iron Man 3 photos and Avengers 2?

For the second time in less than a week the intra-webs are buzzing about another Marvel Studios production, this time it’s Iron Man 3. Pictures have surfaced within the last 24 hours showing most of the films cast shooting on location in Wilmington, North Carolina. What makes these photos even more interesting is we are seeing images not of the long believed villain, the Mandarin, but of a “Dark Avengers” related character, The Patriot Armor.

A lot of articles are commenting on the surprise reveal of the Patriot armor, but no one is speculating on how this could impact the greater Marvel universe of movies. In the comics, a Spider Man related character wore the Patriot armor in the Dark Avengers story arc. We’ve already seen this character, Norman Osborn played by Willem Dafoe in the Sam Raimi helmed Spider man movie in 2002. But now in this post Avengers Marvel Movie universe where everything is interconnected and some properties getting a reboot, could we be witnessing foreshadowing towards a sub-plot in the Avengers 2?

Goodbye Googleplex, Hello DC Entertainment’s Burbank Office

Just as I start imagining my dream company and location, Comicvine posts the scoop of the week (and it’s only Wednesday,) a tour of DC’s Burbank offices and it doesn’t fail to impress.

I’ve spent most of my life working for companies trying to compete with the typical-Silicon Valley campus-like image complete with high-end coffee machines and ping pong tables. Looking over the photos in the post, I have to say I’m completely envious of the DC offices in Burbank. Totally beautiful.

The intrawebs are lighting up as word of Mads Mikkelsen is in discussion to play the bad guy in the next Thor movie due out late next year. Nothing yet has been posted to Mikkelsen’s IMDB page…yes…yes…we know it’s too early, but we are trying to find some confirmation and an idea which villian Mikkelsen could be in line to play.

Do we dare hope for another round of individual movie tie-in’s leading up to Avengers 2?
