This strip is a weird one for me as I’m slowly moving into new territory for Podscape. Hopefully you’ll notice slight improvements in the art. In the coming months expect a more fluid and dynamic approach to the already established characters (even the avatar ones.)
Plus there are more improvements planned in the story department as well. As much as I love the stand-alone set-up, conflict, and punch of the previous strips, I want to try to building longer narratives that reveal more about these characters. However, to get to the point where the narrative really helps in moving the characters and the humor along, I’m learning the hard way that that it’s going to take some work.
Posted by the shows respective talents on twitter, and now starting to get covered by blogs everywhere, the word is out that Revision3 is cutting back on some very popular shows. My personal favorite “Internet Superstar” being one of them.
Truemores.com reports that heavy hitters such as “Epic Fu” and “Wine Library” are now without distribution deals, while other well-liked shows such as “Pixel Perfect” and “Pop Siren” have been canceled altogether.
You can read the obligatory blog post by Revision3.
If there is one really smart executive left in any of the broadcast media companies, he/she should sign these shows up quickly. It doesn’t take a genius to see how easily any of these shows or the creators behind them could fit in very well with the same kind of risk-taking programming that is currently bringing us “Mad Men,” “Heroes,” or the “Deadliest Catch.”
Once again, thanks Wall Street for screwing the economy and making us all suffer.
Now if I could only post my comic from my iPod as well.=)
I hope this is not a sign of things to come but one of my favorite sites is closing.
I received an email from eyespot.com today saying they cannot continue operation and will not be accepting any more video uploads. This not only sucks for the million of eyespot fans out there but is also a blow to the online video and publishing space.
So far nothing has been published on the front page about the news, so I’m attaching the contents of the email here.
